Terms and Conditions

1. For the purpose of maintaining order during the lesson, the following provisions applies:

 

a. Only the final session of the term may be observed by the parents/guardians.

 

b. Should exceptional circumstances exist, parents / guardians may be allowed to view alternative lessons subject to prior arrangement.

 

c. Students are requested to arrive 10 (Ten) minutes before the lesson and to be dressed properly when entering the studio.

 

d. Students shall at all time during the lesson wear the correct uniform and have the correct hairstyle.

 

2. For collection of students, the following provisions applies:

 

a. Students must wait to be collected. No student may wait outside on their own to be collected and no student will be placed in the care of any person other that the student’s parents / guardians or any person authorised in writing by the student’s parents / guardians to collect such student.

 

3. Enrolment and term

 

a. Lessons are conducted for 4 terms of the year. The dates on which the lessons will be conducted during any specific term will be communicated by the Studio to students or the parents / guardians of students before commencement of any specific term.

b. The 4 terms mentioned in 3(a) correspond with the government school terms as determined by the Department of Basic Education, but may in the sole discretion of the Studio be varied and will such variation be communicated to the Student or the Parents / Guardians of students

 

c. Students are initially enrolled with the Studio for one term.

 

d. One term’s written notice of disenrollment is required in order for a student to be disenrolled from the Studio.

 

e. At the end of the one term period as per 3(c) above, should the Studio not have received notice of disenrollment per 3(d) above, the student will automatically be re-enrolled for another term and will the student continue to be re-enrolled for subsequent terms until such time as a notice of disenrollment is received in terms of 3(d) above.

 

4. Events and additional activities

 

a. Students will not be allowed to participate in additional activities such as competitions, eisteddfods, exams or concerts or similar events if the student has not, in the discretion of the Studio, diligently attended lessons or in the event that the Student’s account is in arrears.

 

b. Any fees paid for such additional activities or events, which fees do not form part of the fees payable for lessons, shall be non-refundable and shall specifically be non-refundable in the event that the student does not attend such additional activity or event for whatsoever reason or in the event that the student, in the discretion of the Studio, has not attended lessons diligently or the Student’s account is in arrears and by reason thereof and in terms of 4(a) above may not participate in such additional activity or event.

5. General:

 

a. Entry and participation into examinations shall be subject to the Instructor / Studio’s discretion.

 

b. The fees as set out in the payment policy, and subject to the terms and conditions relating to fees, are payable for as long as a student is enrolled with the Studio.

 

c. Students and / or the parents / guardians of students understand that it shall be necessary for the Instructor to occasionally make physical contact with the Student in order to assist with postural corrections, and hereby agrees that such physical contact may be made in so far as it is reasonably required to improve the Student’s posture and skill.

 

d. Students and / or the parents / guardians of students understand that the Student shall be required to attend concerts, workshops, roadshows or similar events, and hereby indemnifies the Studio against any injury, loss and/or damage that a student may suffer during such event or the conveyance to and from such event.

g. The Student and / or the parents / guardians of students hereby indemnify the Studio and the owner and driver of any vehicle used to transport students or any other person to and from the Studio or to and from events against any injury, loss and/or damage that a student or any other person may suffer while being transported to and from the Studio or events.

Terms and Conditions relating to the fees:

 

1. The Student or the Student’s parents and/or guardians will receive a Statement of Account the beginning of each term.

 

a. All fees are payable in advance and shall be paid within 15 (Fifteen) calendar days from date of the Statement of Account.

 

b. Should payment be received after the 15 (Fifteen) calendar days period in 1(a) above, but before the expiry of 60 (Sixty) calendar days from the date of the statement of account, a penalty of an additional R20.00 per lesson shall be payable.

 

c. Interest, at the rate determined by the Prescribed Interest Rate Act 55 of 1975 shall be payable in addition to the penalties incurred in terms of 1(b) above, on any account, which account balance shall include any incurred penalties, not paid before the expiry of 60 (Sixty) calendar days from the date of the statement of account. Interest is to be calculated from the day on which the 60 (Sixty) calendar days period expired until date of final payment.

 

d. Should a Student’s account not be settled within 60 (Sixty) calendar days from the date of the Statement of Account, the Student shall not be allowed to attend lessons until such a time as the arrear account, including penalties and interest, has been settled in full.

 

e. If payment is made by way of an EFT, proof of payment shall be sent to the Studio as soon as reasonably possible.

 

f. Should payment be made by way of an EFT or Bank deposit the students name and the particular term should be used as the deposit reference.

 

e. The Student and / or the parents / guardians of students hereby indemnify the Studio against any injury, loss and/or damage that a student or any other person may suffer during lessons.

 

f. The Student and / or the parents / guardians of students hereby indemnify the Studio and the owners of the property where lessons are conducted against any injury, loss and/or damage that a student or any other person may suffer while on such property

g. If payment is made in cash, the fees must be enclosed in an envelope containing the Student’s name and the particular term.

 

h. Payment by way of cheque is not accepted.

 

i. Payment by way of bank deposit, an addition amount of R80,00 will be charged to the students account.

 

2. Fees relating to examinations, competitions, concerts, eisteddfods or any other additional activities or events are not included in the fees for lessons and will fees relating to such events or additional activities have to be paid in advance in order to participate in same, subject to the terms and conditions.

 

3. No indulgence that the Studio may grant shall constitute a waiver of any of the rights contained herein or the terms and conditions unless in writing and signed by the Student or the Student’s parents / guardians and by the Studio’s authorised representative.

 

4. Students or the parents / guardians of students will be liable for the payment of the Student’s fees regardless of holidays, illness and/or the Student’s non-attendance.

 

5. The latest fee schedule can be supplied to the Student of the Student’s parents and/or guardians upon request thereof.
